Ok. So first of all, this is just one giant WTF product. But the commercial is even more absurd. A grown man comes into the room and the little girls teach him how to tickle the baby. Then the baby’s anatomically correct penis moves up like it’s getting an erection, then it starts peeing.
Since the absurdity of the commercial speaks for itself, I just leave you with a rough transcript of the ad’s text:
Baby Pirulin Pee Pee, have a drink. Oh how happy, little thing. He’s laughing. He’ll start laughing when you tickle him. Let me do it. His little willy moves and he’s going to pee pee. Pee pee. You’re going to laugh with him. Naughty, naughty, naughty.

I haven’t seen that ad here in the UK yet! And its one of those cross-continental dubbed ads (with very poor lipsync)
Ick. But I suppose only fair enough - there’ve been little-girl-baby dolls weeing on demand since I was young (decades ago)

The only absurdity is the puritanical shock that reality causes parochial and backward Americans…
Is it a cheesy ad? Yes.
The unfunny part is there is nothing “wrong” with the toy. It’s arguably educational. The sad part is that if some company tried to market it state side, fundamentalists would be morally horrified and begin a nationwide effort to ban the product from shelves…all the time waiving a flag and crying “think about the children!” the U.S. is so taboo-ridden it makes me sick. Why are we so afraid of our own bodies and sexuality. The answer is Religion. I hope I live to see the day that religion is no more, perhaps outlawed…that would be nice…if only for the childrens’ sake.
I know i’m not going to surprise anyone if I say that, sadly, that thing is not british, but spanish.

Actually - whilst I’ve no idea if that ad has been broadcast, the one above is for the Irish market - Byrnes and World of Wonder are Irish toy stores…
There’s nothing wrong with the toy! Perhaps they could’ve modified the text of the ad a little, but the toy is perfectly ok for normal, unidiotic and reasonable people.
The price is in Euros, Britain doesn’t use €.

What’s so unbelievable about it? Baby’s pee, kids know that or at least should. There’s nothing obscene about it.
The only thing that should be unbelievable is that someone could have a problem with this. Alas, should is the operate word.
Hm, or we could just teach our kids that their genitals are normal parts of their body and not things to be scared or disturbed by and then it wouldn’t be a big deal. little boys do have penises under their overalls, not flat mounds of plastic. why should kids be afraid of their own bodies?

adnauseam, yes there are big problems with something like this. Before you throw in the stereotypical overused rehashed, regurgitated comments about religion, let’s just test the logic here. Let’s inverse everything.
The commercial shows two or three boys around a doll. when they pan closer we see they are giglling at a naked baby girl with surprisingly anatomically correct vulva. They tell the dad to tickle her to make her pee, and they pick her up and pee starts streaming out from the vulva. They all laugh it up and say naughty girl!
Now do you think something like this would fly? Would a commercial like that make it to air? NOPE.
Now I guess you don’t have a problem with a commercial that has girls playing with an anatomically correct baby boy that gets an erection and pees into the air. Is this teaching the girls how to take care of an infant, or is it teaching them something that pretty much boils down to molestation that is ok because that’s just what moms do to their sons at this age???
I’m sorry, but this crap is just wrong in so many ways and don’t even start any crap about religion tainting the minds of people and causing them to have a problem with such crap as this.
