Why do pc laptops always need to have stickers on them reminding you what processor and operating system it came with and why are they always located right where you need to rest your hands?
Do people forgot what os they are using and need to refer to the stickers?
@zlem: Microsoft, Intel and AMD give the manufacturers money for every unit that ships with those stickers on them. think of it as a way to help defray the cost of your system by being a billboard. you can always take the stickers off and/or move them somewhere else.
Heh, interesting but thinkpads are still ugly x3… and thanks to the loads of similar comments people now know it isn’t IBM xP good job repetitive comments ^^
Hey guys, it’s not IBM any more! Thinkpad is not IBM! It’s Lenovo now! Lenovo makes the Thinkpad! Not IBM! Huh? … What’s that? Fifty other people already left that same comment? Oh, thanks for telling me.
Just to clear up some things for those who do not know; IBM sold its laptop division to Lenovo; part of the deal was that lenovo was still able to leverage the Thinkpad brandname.
Hi, can I just say that not all people who use Macs are irrational zombie fanboys? I like the MacBook Air and also think this ad is funny… DOES THAT BLOW YOUR MIND?!
Lenovo is not IBM; however Thinkpads are still branded as “IBM Thinkpad” as part of a licensing deal between IBM and Lenovo when Lenovo bought IBM’S PC division.
Wow listen to all the Mac apologists. If Apple that money on functionality rather than making it look nice, because THAT is an important feature, then maybe the rest of the world that isn’t addicted to their crappy products could appreciate the hardware. Until then, enjoy your overpriced and proprietary (DON’T FORGET PRETTY!!) gadgetry!
Ummm, I own a17′ macbook (my $), and a brand new lenovo T61 (from work).
I defy anybody to use both for a week and choose the tank (t61).
Screen is TERRIBLE. Try pushing the radio off button on the left front when you have a broadband card and then try to use it later (when you turn it back on). Uhhh, can you say reboot time?
My favorite t61 story is that I discovered a key combo (by accident) that you can rotate the screen 90 degrees at a time.
Of course, Windoz knows nothing - if you try to use the control panel to correct, you are only digging a deeper grave, and reboots don’t fix it!
Anyway I figured out the key combo, and now I press the key combo of my poor fellow workers when they leave their machines (T61’s) unattended.
Anyway, find may ANYBODY who have owned both that prefers the lenovo…..ads be dammed!

but does it run OSX?
Just like the fake song, a cheap imitation…

Lenovo != IBM
Except Lenovo != IBM
but the think pad is still ugly and always will be
Lenovo is no longer IBM.
No Compromise?
Windows, the biggest compromise of them all.
* and don’t say Linux, if I need to edit conf files to make a printer work, you fail.
IBM no longer makes Thinkpads, Lenovo does.
IBM doesn’t make Thinkpads any more. That’s why it’s a Lenovo ad.
did you know Lenovo and IBM are not the same?
Heh, nice, but it’s Lenovo now, not IBM…
just a note, thinkpads are no longer an IBM brand.rather a lenovo one
I’m gonna be just like everybody else and say Lenovo is not IBM. Because I don’t think you get the picture yet. And I think I’m clever for noticing.
Actually, thinkpads are made by lenovo now — not IBM.
Guys, I think Lenovo makes thinkpads now.

I’m pretty sure that Thinkpads aren’t made by IBM any more; it’s Lenovo now

It’s not IBM! It’s Lenovo!
Lenovo, not IBM.
How are there so many comments here that essentially say the same thing? Are you people zombies?
Um, guys. The thinkpad is totally made by Lenovo now, not IBM.
Is that clear?
Just to clear up some things for those who do not know; IBM sold its laptop division to Lenovo; part of the deal was that lenovo was still able to leverage the Thinkpad brandname.
Wow, this is the most redundant series of comments I’ve ever seen. You win!
Oh, and Lenovo makes the thinkpad now, not IBM. In case anyone hasn’t noticed.
I wonder if IBM makes the ThinkPad or if it’s Lenovo now.
@98% of the posters above:
There’s an unspoken rule of the internets, and it goes like this:
Read the comments before posting one.
IBM doesn’t make manilla envelopes, Lenovo does!
lolz there is nothing funnier than pissing off Mac fanboys
Yes, no compromises except for screen, keyboard, operating system, and industrial design. Zing.
I think thinkpads are made by lenovo now - not IBM.

wait so who makes thinkpads now? I seem to have forgotten
