Yeah, Apple takes other people’s ideas and adds eye-candy & snob appeal. Google “steve jobs xerox parc” if you don’t believe me, or “palm software” to see some of the many thousands of APPS that have been available on a touchscreen device that predates the iPhony by more than 10 years.

I’d rather be the nerdy PC guy than the effete, smarmy Mac guy in the TV commercials.

Oh, and I don’tknow why you’e editing conf files in Linux, unless it’s to do something that’s impossible even to do on a Mac.

Windows sucks, but so does OSX. The only good OS was on Xerox workstations in the late 90s.

Ummm, I own a17′ macbook (my $), and a brand new lenovo T61 (from work).
I defy anybody to use both for a week and choose the tank (t61).
Screen is TERRIBLE. Try pushing the radio off button on the left front when you have a broadband card and then try to use it later (when you turn it back on). Uhhh, can you say reboot time?
My favorite t61 story is that I discovered a key combo (by accident) that you can rotate the screen 90 degrees at a time.
Of course, Windoz knows nothing – if you try to use the control panel to correct, you are only digging a deeper grave, and reboots don’t fix it!

Anyway I figured out the key combo, and now I press the key combo of my poor fellow workers when they leave their machines (T61’s) unattended.

Anyway, find may ANYBODY who have owned both that prefers the lenovo…..ads be dammed!

Wow listen to all the Mac apologists. If Apple that money on functionality rather than making it look nice, because THAT is an important feature, then maybe the rest of the world that isn’t addicted to their crappy products could appreciate the hardware. Until then, enjoy your overpriced and proprietary (DON’T FORGET PRETTY!!) gadgetry!

Lenovo is not IBM; however Thinkpads are still branded as “IBM Thinkpad” as part of a licensing deal between IBM and Lenovo when Lenovo bought IBM’S PC division.
